Howard Bruce Sutter (; January 8, – October 13, ) was an American professional baseballpitcher who played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) between and He was one of the sport's dominant relievers in the late s and early s, making effective use of the split-finger fastball.
A six-time All-Star and World Series champion, Sutter recorded a career earned run average and saves, the third-most in MLB history at the time of his retirement. Su
