Attorney for Shelby County appeals ruling dismissing second try to oust Wanda Halbert
Robert Meyers, the attorney hired by Shelby County Attorney Marlinee Iverson to proceed with an ouster petition against the Shelby County clerk, has filed an appeal of the most recent dismissal in the case.
Shelby County Circuit Court Judge Felicia Corbin-Johnson dismissed the second ouster attempt against Shelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert on Nov.
20. The order granting the dismissal was not entered until Jan. 9, weeks after Corbin-Johnson's ruling came down.
The brief appeal documents, which are just over a page long, were filed by Meyers Friday. They ask the Tennessee Court of Appeals to review Corbin-Johnson's rulings on Halbert's motion to dismiss, which she granted, and her ruling on the county's motion for default judgement, which Corbin-Johnson denied.
